• Examination procedure

  • Please ensure that you arrive on time.
  • Grade 12s will be in the hall and other grades in classes.
    • Grades 8 to 11 must please check your class and seat number at the clock tower at the front of the school. This will change every day so please check the lists in alphabetical order each day.
    • You will be allocated to a room based on alphabetical order, not on which class you are in.
  • You must be in your allocated class half an hour before the start of your exam.
  • If you are late for the examination and arrive during the 10 minutes of reading time, you can only enter the class once the exam has started.
  • You may not leave the examination venue early if you are finished your exam. If you finish the exam well within the time you must remain seated until the end of the exam.
  • No reading of any books or magazines of any kind will be allowed while you are waiting for the session to end.
  • If you have difficulties with the exam you may call the invigilator to give you direction by raising your hand.
  • If you need extra paper you must just raise your hand
  • Once the exam has started under no circumstances may you talk to any of your classmates. Remember the exam session is in session until every script is collected. You may not speak during this collection period.
  • You must present all your necessary stationery in a clear bag on your desk and there is to be nothing else on your desk. You may have a clock if necessary.
  • Your bags are to be placed at the back of the class and once you are seated ready for the exam you may not return to your bag.
  • There is to be no lending or borrowing of stationery so make sure you have all your implements available at the start of the exam.
  • You must use the time before 7:40 and 11:10 to go to the toilet , you may not go during an exam session and if there is an emergency you will be accompanied by a teacher.
  • There are no study sessions.
  • You may have a sealed container with water only.
  • Please do not be tempted to cheat or crib this is seen in a very serious light and we will be on the look out for it. Your teachers were at school once too and they know all the tricks.
  • You may not have any writing on you hands or any notes what so ever on your person.
  • The invigilator will put the times on the board at 15 minute to ½ hour intervals and you will be given a 5 minute warning before the end of the exam.
  • Manage your time carefully.
  • Read all your instructions before you start the exam carefully.
  • Consult your examination timetable carefully.
  • You must come to school in school uniform (no tracksuits)
  • If you are not writing an exam on a certain day you do not have come to school.
  • Only come for your sessions ,therefore if you have an afternoon session arrive at school half hour before your exam starts.
  • Prepare well and you will do well
  • Remember if you have any concerns talk to your teachers, we want you to do well
